The World Library and information Congress (WLIC) of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) was a success. The APLESA Executive Committee member attended including the President Mr. Geraldo Cambiete of Angola, the Vice President Ms Chama Mfula of Zambia, The Immediate past President Ms Esther Kamau of Kenya, the Treasurer Mr. Rugambwa Innocent of Uganda and The Secretary General, Simon J. Engitu of Uganda. the APLESA Executive committee Meeting was held in which the issue of the 19th APLESA Conference to he held in Uganda was discussed.

The Vice President, Madam Chama Mfula together with Innocent Rugambwa and Simon Engitu and a few members from EALA, Zambian Parliament, Kenya Parliament and Namibian Parliament attended the IFLA General Assembly. The Vice President participated in the voting on a motion to reduce students and affiliate IFLA membership fees on behalf of APLESA.

The APLESA Conference Planning  Committee has set  6- 10 May 2019 as the dates for the 19th APLESA Conference to be hosted by the Uganda Parliament. APLESA Executive Committee will hold its meeting on 4th May 2019. Details of the even shall be posted from time to time. Members are reminded to commence preparations to attend this very important event in ample time.
